We were instructed to carry out phase 1 refurbishment works to the University's Music School at the Victoria Rooms. The building is Grade II* listed with works taking a sympathetic approach to the building's historical status. The contract involved refurbishment of the porters' lodge, performance hall and bar area along with communal stairs and corridors within the building. Works included hacking off damp damaged plaster and replastering in Limelite renovating plaster, redecorations using heritage colours, suspended ceilings, general carpentry, floor coverings, furniture upholstery, electrical lighting and power upgrades. There were also drainage repairs and works carried out to the roof area including fitting of Kee-Klamp edge protection, replacement cat ladders and flat roofing.
