Following a competitive tender process directly with DHL Express, we were awarded the fast-track fit-out contract for the new overspill site at Exeter.
The site went live the week following completion; the programme was critical, with a multitude of trades and specialist long-order equipment to consider, including working extensively with the client’s operations team and their preferred supply chain.
Works involved the installation of high-speed shutter doors, design and installation of a fume extract system suitable for internal vehicle movements, including all associated builders work to block work walls, relocation and overhaul of warehouse heating system, management of the mail handling equipment installation, power, data, access control, CCTV, and fire alarm alterations.
Further work included the fit-out of offices, crew room, and meeting room, as well as extensive traffic management/protection work, including installation of Armco road barriers and A-safe pedestrian barriers and bollards, as well as line marking.
External work included the provision of a smoking shelter, cladding alterations to accommodate louvred grills for the building extract system, and a new pathway across a brook to link the neighbouring existing DHL site.
The site went live the week following completion.
