Fitting out a new retail unit for Swoon Gelato in Cardiff’s historic Victorian arcade presented unique challenges.
The central location and limited accessibility required careful planning and coordination.
The project also demanded a high-quality finish to reflect the client’s artisan brand and align with the iconic surroundings of Cardiff Castle.
We drew on our existing relationship with Swoon Gelato, having previously completed their regional kitchen and upgrades to their first store in Bristol.
Our team focused on meticulous coordination and bespoke craftsmanship, ensuring the fit-out met the client’s expectations and was completed within the agreed timeframe.
The project involved the strip-out of a former hair salon and a complete fit-out of the space to create a high-end artisan gelato retail unit.

Energy-efficient decorative LED lighting
Associated catering equipment
Bespoke elements were central to the design, with custom-built cabinets, counters, and seating.
The project was completed with high-quality flooring and decorative finishes, delivering a stylish and functional space for the client.
The project was completed on time and on budget in November 2022. The new store, overlooking Cardiff Castle, successfully reflects Swoon Gelato’s brand identity and provides a welcoming, stylish environment for customers.
