The project involved transforming an office space into a state-of-the-art fertility clinic, requiring both CAT A and CAT B works.
Delivering a clinical facility with specialised spaces such as operating theatres, laboratories, and consulting rooms within tight programme timelines posed a significant challenge.
Additionally, the extensive mechanical & electrical (M&E) requirements, including backup generators, medical gas storage areas, and alarm systems, added complexity to the works. The project required precise planning to ensure compliance with clinical standards and timely delivery for the client.
Our team implemented a phased approach, focusing on close collaboration with all stakeholders to ensure alignment on design and delivery goals.
Proactive communication, detailed scheduling, and rigorous health and safety protocols ensured the smooth progression of the project, meeting both programme and quality requirements.
CAT A and CAT A+ refurbishment works, including the construction of a new entrance lobby, roof repairs, and replacement of windows, doors, and louvres.
External works, such as building clean-downs, decorations, landscaping, and installation of acoustic fencing, cycle storage, and bin storage.
Full CAT B fit-out to transform the space into a clinical facility. This included operating theatres, a day patient ward, consulting rooms, laboratories, clerical/admin offices, and welfare areas.
Installation of extensive M&E systems, including medical gas storage, backup generators/ uninterrupted power supply (UPS), LED lighting, CCTV, alarm systems, and electric car charging points.
Upgrades included partitions, suspended ceilings, floor coverings, decorations, and the replacement of the lift.
The project was completed on time and within budget in December 2021. The Bristol Centre for Reproductive Medicine now operates from a modern, high-specification clinical facility designed to meet the client’s needs and industry standards.
